Creamy white spiked flowers show off the beautiful dark bronze foliage of this Astilbe. Flowers stems are red for extra popping effect. After flowering, foliage will be dark green but still will pair very nicely with Hosta or silvery painted ferns
Pure white plumes are held on contrasting red-purple stems in the summer. Flowers sit above dark bronze foliage. Compact, clumping habit, reaching 18 to 24 inches tall and wide. Excellent choice for mixed borders.
Garden Astilbe are a popular choice for shady gardens, where they perform well if given a rich, moist soil and regular watering. This selection has large, white plumes held over a mound of lacy, black–bronze leaves. After flowering, the foliage takes on hints of green but retains a rich tone. Also thrives in tubs, or mixed containers. Fertilize in April and June. Excellent for cutting. Seed heads may be removed, or left on the plant for winter interest. Plants should be divided every 2 to 3 years, in early spring. Will tolerate full sun, in cool summer regions.
