Welcome to our Fall Scarecrow Upcycycle Challange!!
We are thrilled to announce our Scarecrow Upcycle Challenge - an exciting and eco-friendly event that we want you and your class to be a part of! As we kick off the summer, we reach out to local teachers and present this fantastic challenge. The goal is simple: create unique scarecrows using recycled materials and let your imagination run wild! Once the school year starts, each teacher will receive a kit containing essential materials, including burlap for the face and body, straw for hands and feet, and a wooden scarecrow frame. While you can use these supplies, they are not mandatory, especially if your character doesn't require them (e.g., a sitting dog).
For approximately a month, it's go-time! You and your team will work passionately to create the perfect scarecrow that represents your classroom. The theme is entirely up to you and your group - feel free to let your creativity shine! Just remember to keep it family-friendly since our event caters to all ages, ensure it's weatherproof to withstand the outdoors, and make it of manageable size for easy transportation.
Scarecrows are due back at Art's for September 22nd- October 5th, 2024 and we'll display them along our Scarecrow stroll, having them visible for all our festival goers! Then, once they've been displayed on site, we'll have our group of judges come by and vote for their favourite one. Then whoever gets the most votes will be rewarded with a delightful pizza party!
