Snowberry is the common name of a group of deciduous flowering shrubs also known as Symphoricarpos that features a very noticable white berry that appears in winter. Newer more modern varieties feature berries of different colours including amethyst or pink.
It is a tough native shrub to British Columbia and is excellent for creating a naturalized of woodland feel to the garden.
It performs best when planted in sun or part shade in well drained soils. Prune after berries have peaked in appearance, if required.
