Greek Oregano offers the best leaves for cooking. Plants are very hardy when established and impact a wonderful wild-mountain aroma in the garden with their tiny white flowers. Germination may be slow. Plants grow to height of 45cm (18 inches). Approximately 545 seeds per pack.
Oregano is used as a spicy flavouring in tomato sauces, egg and cheese dishes, vegetable stews, meat and chicken dishes and pizza. Annual. Sow outdoors in full sun after danger of frost has passed. Harvest in 90 days.
Origanum is a very long blooming selection that has wonderfully aromatic, spicy foliage as well as great flowers. Huge sprays of vivid amethyst blooms hang at the tips of light green cones that resemble Hops. Drought tolerant.
This selection features clusters of soft mauve flowers in midsummer, over a low mound of golden-yellow foliage. Plants are great for edging, or in tubs and mixed containers. Since this is a form of Common Oregano, the leaves are fragrant and may be used in cooking.
Bushy, trailing plant with wiry stems densely covered with small, silver-veined, glaucous leaves. Unique, drooping, pink-bracted, hop-like flowers bloom in whorls from summer to fall.
Evergreen herbaceous perennial with yellow-green leaves and white flowers in summer.
