A bud blooming heather is different from other heaths and heathers. While most heaths and heathers produce masses of attractive, white, pink or dark pink bell shaped flowers, bud bloomers do not.
Instead, their colourful foliage and buds colour up and stay coloured for a long period of time in the spring and the fall. There are many varieties in a wide range of colours. For best effect, plant them in groups or clusters.
Plant bud blooming heathers in the full sun, in moist but well drained, acidic soils.
