Graceful, arching stems on this clumping (non-runner) bamboo. New shoots are light blue with tan culm sheaths, aging to a yellowish-green. Should be planted in an area that gets afternoon shade.
A very tight, clumping bamboo that reaches about 10′ high. It has a vase-shape form with some arching perimeter stems. Culms range from burgundy to magenta in spring, fading over the growing season.
New fargesia with tiny delicate leaves & pea green canes that turn to deep burgundy within the 2nd year. Canes eventually fade to yellow. For best cane colour plant in bright location, but not in full sun.
